Brian Adams Senior Pastor: Brian began his ministry at WHBC on June 6, 2004. He is a 2003 graduate of Christopher Newport University and earned his Master of Divinity in 2011 from the John Leland Center for Theological Studies. Most recently, he has become an Uptick alum of 2013, a leadership investment ministry of Virginia Baptists.
Brian’s role at WHBC is ever-expanding. His current role is that of Senior Pastor. He has served as youth pastor, young adult pastor, praise band leader, and preacher/pastor of our new worship gathering on Sundays at 11am. He also has started pursuing a great passion of his in leading and developing our new discipleship huddle groups. He lives to see people coming alive in Christ, families made whole, and the world reconciled to God.
Brian married his love, Michelle in 2007. He loves spending time with Michelle, cheering on their Philadelphia Eagles, anything basketball, and traveling.

Larry Smith Associate Pastor of Music and Worship: Larry began his ministry at West Hampton Baptist Church on June 1, 1976. Originally from High Point, North Carolina, Larry earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Mars Hill College in 1966 and a Master of Church Music degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1969. He also completed Clinical Pastoral Education at The School of Pastoral Care at North Carolina Baptist Hospital and is a certified teacher/trainer in Evangelism Explosion.
Previous experience as Minister of Music and Youth was gained at Del Ray Baptist in Alexandria, VA, and First Baptist, Altavista, VA. While at Del Ray Baptist, Larry met and married Ginny in 1972.
Interests and hobbies include running, cycling, hiking, reading, stereo equipment and music listening.

Brad Hill Associate Pastor of Deaf: Brad came to West Hampton Baptist Church in 1975. He served as a lay person in youth ministry and became involved with the deaf ministry in 1982. From Pineville, WV, he graduated from Bluefield College where he met his wife Esther and earned his Bachlor of Science Degree in Christian Ministry. He began serving as Associate Pastor of Deaf in 1998. Brad is bi-vocational, working full time for Intergraph Corporation as a software support consultant.
Family: Married to Esther 1975. They have two children, Jonathan (’76) and Adam (’79) and five granddaughters.

Kevin Schrum, Pastor of Administration and Senior Ministry: Kevin began his ministry at WHBC November 2nd, 2015. A U.S. Army Vietnam veteran where he served in the Chaplaincy Corps. A 1980 graduate of Christopher Newport College and earned his Master in Christian Leadership from the John Leland Seminary in 2012. Received a Certificate in Interim Ministry in 2014 from the Center for Congregational Health in North Carolina. Served WHBC in a number of lay positions and committees. Ordained at WHBC. The SBC/BGAV requested that Kevin lead a series of sessions at the Marriage Enrichment Seminar in Williamsburg, Va. Currently serves as the Treasurer for the PBA (Peninsula Baptist Association) 2015-16.
His position involves him in the day-to-day operations of the church and its ministries with oversight and assistance in a number of areas including attention to the unique opportunities and challenges of a growing senior population. His vision is for people to have an up close, personal relationship with the Lord and endeavors to pursue an unhindered Biblical thirst and a hunger for Christ, in those he meets.
Kevin, his sister Susan Norris, and parents have practically been life-long members at WHBC. Kevin has served in a number of Tidewater churches in pastoral, interim and pulpit supply roles. Enjoys playing guitar; watercolor and acrylic painting and computer gaming. Follows the NY Yankees and New Orleans Saints. Favorite vacation places -Mount Mitchell, North Carolina and the Florida Keys.
Kevin and Vicki were married in 1976 and have 3 adult children: Jennifer Erin, Suzanne, and Amber and have 5 grandchildren.
